“More Than A Bandage”  -   A Community & Family Health Program

In March we hosted the week-long, Intermediate Health Course.  It was incredible how much the 18 women learned for teaching back home in their rural communities as well as all the first aid skills they acquired to serve the needs of their family and neighbors.  The women are grateful for the scholarships made possible by GYTTE donors and are looking forward to graduating when they complete the Advance Health Course this coming August.

We’re including here an article written by Rev. Barbara Garcia for the TN UMConnector.  She and her husband, Rev. Joaquin Garcia, have been serving as volunteers with the GYTTE program over the past two years.  Barbara’s account of the Intermediate Health Course is an interesting read. You will also find photographs of the women in attendance and photos of the classes and the week’s activities. Enjoy!
